For this project in Almere, the goal was a modern staircase with a designer balustrade that complements the style of the home.
Modern staircase
A modern block staircase was chosen, made of oak, with a unique custom-made balustrade tailored to the client’s specifications. The balustrade is made from sheet steel and powder-coated in black. The result: a stunning modern staircase!

Construction of block staircases
Not every home is suitable for a “true” block staircase—a staircase that is self-supporting without the aid of stringers. How does it work? For a block staircase, we install so-called steel pins into the wall before assembly, which are then chemically anchored. In some cases, we use a steel stringer with steel pins, which is then plastered together with the wall, making it invisible.
When this type of construction is not possible (for example, with thin drywall), it is still possible to create the illusion of a block staircase using underlying stringers. The steps are still glued together at a 90-degree angle, preserving the block staircase effect.
For this reason, it is always a good idea to discuss your staircase project with our team. There are often multiple ways to realize your staircase vision. We are happy to guide and assist you throughout the process to design and deliver your ideal staircase.
Our team is always available by phone and email to answer any questions. Feel free to contact us without obligation—we’re happy to help. Every home deserves a unique staircase!
